Sunday Stamping With Sherry Cheever: Spring Blooms

Happy Easter, Inky friends! Hope the bunny brings you lots of treats today.

In Sherry Cheever's basket, she might find LaraBars, Oats n’ Honey Nature Valley bars, and almonds to enjoy with her favorite go-to beverages of Diet Coke and a good bold coffee. (How's that for a segue into today's post? Ha ha...)

And if we're talking about the stamping kind of treat, I've got some visual goodies to share with you today. For this week's projects, Sherry used 11099MC Spring Blooms Clear Set (drawn by artist Vicki Schreiner):

When I'd asked Sherry about some of her favorite stamping techniques, she said, "I don’t know if it’s a technique, but I love making paper flowers. Other than that, sanding and sponging."

This card already contains flowers in the stamp design, so Sherry added some of that sanded and sponged goodness to her creation:

The wood mounted version is 2854H Daffodil Pot. Doesn't it just scream "spring" to you?

Besides stamps, of course, some of Sherry's favorite tools are Spellbinders Dies, her sewing machine, bamboo skewers, hot glue gun, emery boards for sanding, designer paper, and Ranger Distress Inks. You can see how she used many of them in her card!

Spellbinders™: S4-319 Lattice Rectangles, S4-130 Classic Rectangles SM, S4-132 Classic Rectangles LG, LF-132 Grand Rectangles, Grand Calibur®

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; Ranger Distress Inks in Antique Linen and Wild Honey; Ranger Archival Jet Black; Copic Markers

Papers: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck – Baby Jane

Other: Ranger Craft Sheet, Heat it™ Craft Tool, Mister, Glossy Accents, Stamp Pad Foam; Tonic Paper Distressing Tool; Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares; Seam Binding

Image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah and colored with Copic Markers. Image and background layers die cut/embossed with Rectangles. The Lattice Rectangle layer was die cut/embossed and sponged with Antique Linen while still in the die (to leave the outside white).

Seam binding was dyed with Wild Honey Distress Ink.

And here's the inside, showing one of the sentiments from that set (or 0568G Where Flowers Bloom in the wood mounted version):

Sentiment was stamped in Archival Jet Black. Same technique used on inside Lattice Layer as on the front.

You may have noticed that Sherry's second card is featured on the main Inky website this week:

Spellbinders™: S4-110 Classic Ovals LG, S4-112 Classic Ovals SM, S4-344 Tear Drop Circles, S4-114 Classic Circles LG, S4-116 Classic Circles SM, E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities®, Grand Calibur®

Inks: Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink and Archival Jet Black; Memento Tuxedo Black; Copic Markers

Papers: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Vienna Lake and Katydid Core’dinations; My Mind’s Eye – Vanity Fair

Other: Ranger Glossy Accents, Craft Sheet, Mister, Stamp Pad Foam, Heat it™ Craft Tool; May Arts Ribbon; Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares; Sewing Machine; Scor-Buddy

Image stamped on Neenah with Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copic Markers. Die cut/embossed and layered with circles. Edges of all sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Background paper from My Mind’s Eye stitched to cardstock layer.

The ribbon was lightly dyed with Antique Linen.

She decorated the inside beautifully, as well:

Inside finished same as outside. Sponging in Antique Linen, stitching with machine, and sentiment stamped in Ranger Archival Jet Black.
