Sunday Stamping With Chelle Fowler: Songbird

Since its release at the beginning of February, you've seen a few different projects using 11070SC Songbird Clear Set (drawn by artist Darby New):

Trudy Sjolander made this card, and I made this one. Karen Taylor, who was our Guest Designer in January, made this one.

Chelle Fowler, Inky's Guest Designer in May, also used the same set to create her beautiful card:

When I asked Chelle to name her top 5-10 tools (besides stamps, of course), she said she could not live without a non-stick mat, Ink Blending Tools, Distress ink pads, water mister, Glossy Accents, tape runner, Tonic scissors, foam tape, Sizzix dies and the Vagabond in her studio.

It turns out she wasn't kidding! Her card was made using almost all of those items, plus a couple of others. Check out her fun stitching as a way to attach the cut-out honeycomb shapes to the base cardstock:

Chelle inked different portions of the main image (0390J Bird on Branch) with two Distress Ink Pads, and then she used the Tim Holtz Detail Water Brush and a Distress Marker in Pumice Stone to shade the image. Look at the awesome results:

I love her finishing touches, such as inking all the edges and topping things off with a pretty seam binding bow, vintage button, and string:

Supplies: 11070SC Songbird Clear Set, My Mind's Eye Be Amazing 6 X 6 Paper Pad, Kraft Cardstock, Distress Ink Pads (Walnut Stain and Peacock Feathers), Distress Marker in Pumice Stone, Detail Tip Water Brush, Ink Blending Tool, Non-Stick Craft Mat, Glossy Accents, Seam Binding, Pearl Cotton, Vintage Button, Sewing Machine.
