"Try It Different" Tuesday: Aviator Benton

Earlier this month, you saw an adorable mini album that our February Guest Designer, Sue Kment, created using 11081MC Aviator Benton Clear Set (drawn by artist Darby New):

You may also recall that Anita Madden made this gorgeous card last fall with the same image.

The other day, I just happened to receive a wonderful packet of cards from our friend Becky O'Donnell. You'll never guess which stamps were featured on one of her cards!

Yep, that funny flying bear had been busy again:

You can't tell from the photos, but he was fussy cut and attached to the card with an Action Wobbles spring. When you touch the image, the spring makes his plane bob and weave through the clouds (made using this stencil). So much fun!

Another cool feature of Becky's card is how it unfolds to reveal the inside:

I thought this "aerial shot" would be helpful...and very applicable for this particular project (ha ha!):

If you're planning to attend the Adventures In Stamping show in Akron, Ohio on April 27-28, Becky will be teaching her Fabulous Folds 5 class. (If you check out the class descriptions, don't miss Becky's two additional classes, along with two classes being offered by Michelle Cutts from our sister company Art Gone Wild!)

In her Fabulous Folds 5 class, Becky will explain how to make the same fold-out card design (but decorated with different Inky Antics stamps), along with six other cards featuring our various stamps:

Did you spot the other card with Benton in that picture, though? That's right, Becky used him on a different fancy fold card for the class. It's bear-y cute, if I do say so myself!

Since we're on the subject of classes, just a reminder that Tina Covington will be teaching her next class (featuring other Inky Antics stamps) at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, Texas tomorrow and then again on Friday. You can read details about it here.

Last summer, Tina had made this charming card with Aviator Benton:

I love how Benton is soaring through the designer paper clouds, don't you?

And, last month, Tina created this version:

She stamped just the propeller part again, cut it out, and adhered it onto the whole image with foam tape for added dimension. "Props" to Tina for making such a fantastic card!

Wow--great cards with this cute set. Love the fancy fold and action wobble on the first one.
