"Try It Different" Tuesday: Soup Time

I'm not sure if it's due to the seasons changing or what, but several people I know have been bitten by the sick bug lately.

I'll bet one of the cheery cards from this set by Danielle Lounds, which we featured back in January, would be a welcome diversion:

Or you may recall this lovely card by Michelle Pearson:

It was a weekly project from our main website, and it has a flip-open half panel that's a neat touch:

They were all created using 11146MC Soup Time Clear Set, drawn by artist Nancy Baier:

In fact, not only did Nancy draw these beautiful images, but she experimented with her finished stamps using the "chalkboard technique" to make this unique card:

Nancy simply stamped the clock and coffee pots image (from her 11145MC Coffee Time Clear Set) in white ink. But the soup bowl, as she explains, "was first embossed in white and then overstamped, a little offset, with white ink. [I also] smudged a little white over the blackboard":

You can find another card using this method, but with the veggie scene image from this set, on Nancy's blog.

For a completely different look, Nancy used the soup bowl image again...but with a bold black-and-white base in this "clean and simple" get well card:

And if you're wanting to try a 3-D project with these stamps, Debbie Fisher decorated our V1-1223 Rectangle Box Template to make a delightful little box:

You could fill it with individually wrapped cough drops or lip balm for a soothing treat.

Thanks for reading today, and I wish you a healthy week!
