Sunday Stamping With Vicki Garrett: Sewing Mousie HoneyPOP & Sew Many Stitches

Creativity is contagious, pass it on.
-Albert Einstein

"I love to watch young children create," shares Vicki Garrett. "The beauty of their art is in their ability to truly enjoy the process without fear of failure."

Adults, of course, can often have a more difficult time because they've learned to censor themselves. But it's good to practice letting go.

"Relax! Just allow yourself to create without limitations," she suggests. When you see this month's projects, I think you'll agree this Canadian from Kingston, Ontario has followed her own advice quite nicely:

For her first project, Vicki used 11153MC Sewing Mousie HoneyPOP Clear Set (drawn by artist Tammy DeYoung):

You may recall that Dinal Kowal chose the same set last month, and both of these designers came up with wonderful yet completely different looking cards. Take a look at Vicki's charming results:

As I've said before, it's the details that really make a difference...and Vicki has included many great examples!

"I know that sequins are all the rage," she admits, "but I’m a button girl. In fact, that is one of the pet names that I’ve been dubbed with."

Accordingly, Vicki decorated this red button with baker's twine and used it to accentuate the wavy, distressed sentiment banner:

"[I] love HoneyPOPs!" she proclaims. "[It's] so much fun to have that added dimension in your card, and they are very easy to work with."

Here's that fun pop-out shape inside Vicki's card:

And did you notice the straight pins? What an adorable touch:

That "embroidery" along the bottom is actually a stamp from 10934MC Sew Many Stitches Clear Set:

All of these components come together to make a card that is "sew" delightful. Thanks to Vicki for sharing it. We're just thrilled to introduce her as the Inky Guest Designer for June!

Haven't tried the Honeypop Paper yet, although I do have several Inky Antics stamps! Love the dimension it gives to a card.
