Sunday Stamping With Beverly Sizemore: Life's Song

We have bird-themed elements decorating several rooms in our house. There are birdy glass canisters in the dinette, ceramic birdy salt and pepper shakers in the kitchen, a vintage-style clock with an oil-rubbed bronze bird perched at the top in the hallway, and even more items upstairs.

That's one of the reasons I love 11161MC Birdbath & Feeder Clear Set (drawn by artist Nancy Baier):

It's also why I was thrilled when Beverly Sizemore used this set to create her beautiful bird card:

If you're a bird fan like me, you'll be happy to see how easy it was to put together!

Beverly created a tag-on-card design, starting with a pretty teal patterned cardstock that was adhered to a kraft tag using Mod Podge:

Since the Mod Podge was a gold shimmer variety, it was also perfect for highlighting the edges of her torn image and sentiment panels, which were stamped with teal ink:

Did you notice the charming little nest filled with eggs? I just adore this embellishment.

"My advice is to USE your supplies," suggests Beverly. "For years, I would buy papers and embellishments, and "save" them for just what I’m not sure. I guess I was "collecting" them! When I started submitting to the magazines, though, I learned to use my newest supplies and not save them."

Hooray for not saving the nest for her stash! She also pulled out some grosgrain ribbon and distressed the white-stitched edges so they would have a more vintage appeal:

Beverly added a stamped birdy panel and words torn from patterned paper, too.

Once all of her pieces were assembled onto the kraft cardstock base, her gorgeous project was complete:

Many thanks to Beverly for today's creative inspiration. Hope your heart is filled with a happy song, Inky friends!
