"Try It Different" Tuesday: Pear

One of the most popular stamp series in our convention booth is the Divine Reflections collection, including 11071SC Holy Spirit's Fruit Clear Set (drawn by artist Darby New):

In this card, the stippled Pear stamp (0369H in wood mounted) was stamped over a unique crinkled tissue paper background colored with Distress Inks:

AnnMarie Castrigno invented this fun technique, which is explained in the instructions sheet you can download here.

Of course, the pear image can also be colored in, as Michelle Pearson did with the direct-to-paper method using Distress Ink, before applying a thin layer of gold glitter glue on top:

It makes a lovely, sparkly focal point on this pretty card:

Jennifer Scull colored in her pear image, too. After heat embossing with powder, she used watercolors in a few different shades:

She added gold glitter to her card, too...in a more chunky form applied to a die-cut flourish:

The white-painted edges remind me of shabby chic furniture decorating a cozy cottage:

All of the elements in this card add a fantastic vintage appeal to her finished project:

Hope your day is pear-fectly wonderful, Inky friends!

this is such a great set. one of my faves of Nancy's - well, they are all pretty spectacular!

wanted to add that the glitter on my card is actually glitter glass that will age over time. it's pretty cool stuff! :)
