"Try It Different" Tuesday: Baking Penguins & Banners

On Sunday, you saw the adorable card that Kim O'Connell made using 11059LC Baking Penguins Clear Set (drawn by artist Tammy DeYoung):

What I didn't mention is that she also used this stamp set to create two additional cards, which I'm delighted to show you today! Take a look at this charming project:

I love how Kim scored the double-fishtail banner on both ends, so the middle section could be raised to accentuate the sentiment, with two single-fishtail banners hanging vertically below for even more visual interest.

She used two different ink colors to stamp the saying, which I don't usually think to do myself...brilliant!

Smaller banners are great, but did you ever try a big one as a layering element? Here's a wonderful example:

Kim drew faux stitch marks around the edges with a white gel pen, which really made the shapes "pop." And, of course, her coloring and blending with Copic markers was beautifully done:

Thanks to Kim for providing holiday card-making inspiration! Which element is YOUR favorite?
