"Try It Different" Tuesday: Card Loom Woven Frame & Shadow Box

You've already seen how our IAD-004 Card Loom Die helps you create pretty woven backgrounds. But did you know that you can also make cool frames to spotlight a sentiment or image on your card? This week's sample card illustrates this unique concept:
To see how we made it, click here for a PDF file of the instructions.
Here's another example using a different color palette and stamps:
Michelle Cutts designed this card so that it could be opened to reveal an additional sentiment inside:
Incidentally, we're making the hippo card as part of our Inky Antics Fold & Weave Cards class at Stampaway in Cincinnati on Friday, August 8th. If you're interested in joining us, please click here for more details.
For a variation on the woven frame, you can match the strips to the card base, as shown in this sample:
Of course, you know how Michelle always comes up with surprising ways to use our Crafty Cutts dies. How about making this shadow box card:
That's right, it stands on its own but then folds flat for mailing:
And, yes, it is indeed made using the IAD-004 Card Loom die. For instructions, please click here to download the PDF file.
Would you like a chance to win this die for yourself? Just leave a comment to let us know, and you'll be entered in our BLOG CANDY drawing. On Sunday, May 18th, I'll randomly choose the winner and post the lucky person's name here on the blog, so please check back to see if you've won!
