"Try It Different" Tuesday: Balloon Elephant & Sunshine Mail

Earlier this year, do you remember seeing this lovely gift bag and color-coordinated card:

The card was made using 11024MC Balloon Elephant HoneyPOP Set (drawn by artist Tammy DeYoung):

Its creator is our stamping friend Karen Seifert:

More recently, she also sent me a photo of this charming card:

Aren't those heart balloons cut out from designer paper a really fun option? We think so!

Of course, there's a regular balloon stamp on that clear set, which Michelle Pearson used to make this delightful alternative version:

Or look how you can get a completely different look, even with some of the same papers and color palette, by creating a z-fold card like this one:

Putting a HoneyPOP "3-D surprise" inside is always a fun idea, but we also love the colorful elements that Michelle chose for this semi-flat version (the party hat elephant is mounted on foam tape to provide some dimension):

We're so glad that Karen was kind enough to share her projects and provide the inspiration for today's post, and that Michelle pitched in with her wonderful ideas, as well.

One important thing that I wanted to mention is Karen's dedication to making cards for Sunshine Mail, which is a nonprofit organization that provides care packages to children in need. They're filled with handmade cards, stuffed animals, coloring books, and other goodies to brighten a child's day. Please check out their website if you're interested in participating.

In fact, we'd like to send 11086MC Balloon Buddies HoneyPOP Set (drawn by artist Tammy DeYoung) to an Inky blog reader who wishes to make cards for Sunshine Mail using this set:

Just leave me a comment at the end of this post, which will serve as your entry to our BLOG CANDY drawing.

On Sunday, July 6th, I'll randomly choose the winner and post the lucky person's name here on the blog, so please check back to see if you've won!

Jackie, Thanks so much for sharing Sunshine Mail! Never underestimate the impact your handmade cards make on someone's day! We receive "Thank Yous" from Moms saying their child will periodically re-open their Sunshine Mail canvas bag, and re-read and look at their cards over and over again. Thank you again for sharing!

Very cute cards and I will check out the Sunshine Mail website. I already own the Balloon buddies set so don't put me in the drawing.

Sunshine Mail sound like a great project for me to do this summer! And the honey-pop set would be perfect for it!

I just love the cards and everything about Honey Pops. Was wondering where video went on Fabulous Flowers?
